Gaddafi Stadium Lahore: Schedule, Capacity & Records
Next match: Pakistan vs England, ODI tri-series at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 25 October 2026. The start time has not been announced.
Data checked 28 August 2026
Gaddafi Stadium is Lahore’s main international cricket venue and the headquarters ground of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Its next confirmed senior international is the Pakistan-England ODI on 25 October 2026, the first of four already announced late-2026 match dates at the ground.
The 31 October tri-series final is also fixed for Lahore, but its teams are not. It appears in the editorial schedule below without being turned into a structured fixture for any team that has not qualified.

Older pages often list 27,000 seats. That number predates the rebuild completed before the 2025 Champions Trophy. A few newer pages say 34,000; SportsMuntra uses 35,000 because that is the capacity published by the ICC for the renovated venue.
Next matches at Gaddafi Stadium
Four upcoming international matches already have known teams and therefore appear in the generated fixture module below. The complete confirmed Lahore block is:
| Date | Match | Competition | Start time status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 October 2026 | Pakistan vs England | Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026 | Not announced |
| 27 October 2026 | Pakistan vs Sri Lanka | Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026 | Not announced |
| 29 October 2026 | Sri Lanka vs England | Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026 | Not announced |
| 31 October 2026 | Top two teams, final | Pakistan ODI Tri-Series 2026 | Teams and time not announced |
| 17-21 November 2026 | Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test | Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan 2026 and World Test Championship | Not announced |
The first four dates belong to one competition, but only the first three have known participants. The final will become a controlled match after the league table identifies its two teams. The Test begins more than two weeks later and should not be mistaken for part of the ODI event.
For Pakistan’s full away-and-home calendar, use the Pakistan cricket team schedule. This page remains venue-first: it follows every substantial match at the ground rather than every match played by one team.
Gaddafi Stadium tickets: wait for the event release
No official ticket sale, price table or enclosure plan for the October tri-series or November Test was published in the sources checked on 28 August 2026.
The PCB announces ticket partners, collection rules, prices, gates and security arrangements for a specific series or tournament. Those details change. For example, a 2025 Pakistan-Bangladesh release used TCS Express Centres and named each Lahore enclosure, while other competitions have used different online partners.
Use the current event’s PCB release—not an old generic stadium page—before paying. SportsMuntra will add a ticket link here only when the PCB or tournament organizer publishes it. It will not link to resale offers in comments, social posts or unofficial marketplaces.
The same rule applies to arrival time, parking and permitted items. Match-day traffic plans and gate instructions are temporary operational information, not permanent venue facts.
Gaddafi Stadium pitch report: one ground, several surfaces
There is no honest timeless answer to “Is Gaddafi Stadium batting-friendly?” The ground has several prepared strips, and a five-day Test, a day ODI and a night T20 can behave differently. Weather, grass cover, soil preparation, match time and wear all matter.
Many ranking pages call Lahore flat, but they disagree about whether batting first or chasing is preferable and whether pace, spin or dew is decisive. That conflict is a warning against copying one average across formats and seasons.
Before an individual match, SportsMuntra will use:
- recent matches in the same format, with a stated cutoff;
- the official or match-day pitch description, when available;
- current Lahore weather and the forecast time;
- whether the game is day, night or day-night; and
- the actual strip and confirmed XIs after the toss.
Historical records show the range better than one label. The ground has produced Pakistan’s 699 for 5 declared in a Test and England’s 209 for 3 in a T20I, but it has also seen New Zealand dismissed for 73 in a Test and 94 in a T20I.
Gaddafi Stadium records by format
These are senior men’s international records through 28 August 2026. They do not mix PSL, domestic, women’s or youth matches into the same table.
| Format | Highest team total | Lowest team total | Highest individual score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test | Pakistan 699/5 declared vs India, 1989 | New Zealand 73 vs Pakistan, 2002 | Inzamam-ul-Haq 329 vs New Zealand, 2002 |
| ODI | Pakistan 375/3 vs Zimbabwe, 2015 | Pakistan 75 vs Sri Lanka, 2009 | Ibrahim Zadran 177 vs England, 2025 |
| T20I | England 209/3 vs Pakistan, 2022 | New Zealand 94 vs Pakistan, 2023 | Mohammad Haris 107 not out vs Bangladesh, 2025 |
The ODI individual record is a useful freshness check. Pages published before the 2025 Champions Trophy often still show Ijaz Ahmed’s 139 not out; Ibrahim Zadran passed it with 177 against England on 26 February 2025.
PSL records are a separate dataset because franchise T20 matches are not T20Is. The Pakistan Super League hub owns the latest season, champion and competition history instead of blending those figures into the international table.
Why Gaddafi Stadium matters in cricket history
The ground opened as Lahore Stadium in 1959 and staged its first Test that November. It was renovated for the 1996 World Cup and hosted the final, where Sri Lanka beat Australia to win its first men’s ODI world title.
In 2017, the PSL final in Lahore became the league’s first match played in Pakistan. That made the venue part of the gradual return of major international and franchise cricket to the country. Test cricket returned to Lahore in March 2022 after a 13-year gap when Pakistan hosted Australia.
The latest major reconstruction was completed in 117 days, according to the PCB. The venue reopened in February 2025 before a tri-nation ODI series and the Champions Trophy. The ICC’s Lahore host-city material listed the rebuilt ground at 35,000 capacity.
How this permanent venue page updates
The URL will remain /gaddafi-stadium/. Confirmed fixtures move from Upcoming to Recent results after their official outcome is recorded. The capacity changes only after the PCB, ICC or another responsible authority publishes a new figure.
Records keep a visible cutoff and update after relevant internationals. A match-specific pitch or weather note will not be recycled as the permanent description of every future game. Ticket and security details expire after their event rather than lingering as misleading advice.
