Ireland Cricket Schedule 2026-27: Fixtures & Results
Data checked 28 August 2026
The Ireland men’s cricket team schedule for 2026-27 currently has eight exact internationals, and all eight are complete: one Test, two T20Is and five ODIs. Ireland’s next series are confirmed only at commitment level, so there is no honest next-match date to display yet.
Cricket Ireland has named Nepal, UAE, Pakistan and Afghanistan as the next opponents, but it has not released the exact match itineraries. The page therefore keeps those commitments outside the match table for now.

New Zealand won the Belfast Test
New Zealand made 490 for 8 declared before bowling Ireland out for 179 and 232. The Test ended on 29 May, a day ahead of its scheduled fourth day, with New Zealand winning by an innings and 79 runs.
Ireland remains one of three Test nations outside the World Test Championship. Its Test calendar is negotiated through bilateral commitments rather than generated by the WTC league schedule. The Test cricket guide explains how a multi-day match is classified and why its end time controls schedule status.
Ireland beat India 2-0 in the T20Is
Ireland won the opener by 34 runs, its first victory over India in any format. Two days later it defended 154 by one run to complete a 2-0 series win.
Both matches began at 1:30 p.m. in Belfast, or 5:30 p.m. PKT during British Summer Time. The permanent India cricket team hub gives the opponent’s current captaincy and wider schedule context.
Afghanistan won the ODIs 4-0
Rain left the first match at Bready without a result. Afghanistan then won the next four by 92 runs, three wickets, 42 runs and six wickets.
All five started at 10:45 a.m. local time, which converts to 2:45 p.m. PKT. The Afghanistan cricket schedule uses the same controlled records, avoiding two versions of the series result.
What Ireland has confirmed next
Cricket Ireland’s current program names four blocks after the home summer:
- a white-ball trip to Nepal under a five-year partnership;
- a UAE training camp and white-ball series;
- Ireland’s first tour of Pakistan, planned for January 2027 as a multi-format series; and
- a multi-format series against Afghanistan in the UAE.
These are real board commitments, but they are not match-ready fixtures. Exact dates, grounds, formats and start times remain unannounced. No row appears until the relevant boards publish enough information to verify it.
The 2027 qualifier question
Ireland is likely to play in the men’s ODI World Cup Qualifier in 2027. The board also expects an Olympic qualification event as cricket works toward the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
The 2027 Cricket World Cup hub separates direct qualifiers from teams still on the pathway. Ireland has not been assigned a World Cup match, and a likely qualifier appearance is not the same as qualification for the 14-team main event.
The 2027 international cricket calendar will add Ireland’s exact Pakistan, Afghanistan and qualifying fixtures when their organizers publish them.
Why old FTP dates are not enough
The ICC’s 2023-27 FTP established bilateral commitments but left exact dates to the boards. Ireland’s 2026 Afghanistan block shows why that distinction matters: earlier plans described one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is, while the series actually played was five ODIs.
Financial, venue and workload decisions can change a series before its match release. A permanent schedule should follow the current board announcement, not preserve every old window as if it were still guaranteed.
Times are shown in PKT
Belfast and Bready were four hours behind Pakistan during British Summer Time. The Test’s 11 a.m. start became 3 p.m. PKT, the India T20Is became 5:30 p.m. PKT and the Afghanistan ODIs became 2:45 p.m. PKT.
The cricket abbreviations guide explains TBC, TBD, ODI and T20I. The ODI format guide covers the 50-over rules used in the Afghanistan series.
What this page excludes
This schedule covers the senior Ireland men’s international team. It excludes Ireland Women, Ireland Wolves, academy and youth sides, inter-provincial cricket, domestic cups, warm-ups and franchise leagues.
It also excludes probable qualifier participation and every series-level commitment that lacks an exact date and venue. Those exclusions prevent youth, women’s and provisional fixtures from inflating the senior men’s count.
How this permanent URL stays current
The URL remains /ireland-cricket-team-schedule/. When the next exact itinerary arrives, the page will add those matches to Upcoming and move the active period forward only when the visible calendar genuinely changes.
Routine source checks update dataVerifiedAt. dateModified changes after a material fixture, result or editorial update, not after a check that finds no change.
