Afghanistan Cricket Schedule 2026-27: Dates & Times
Next match: Afghanistan vs India, 1st T20I at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, Delhi on 13 September 2026. The start time has not been announced.
Data checked 28 August 2026
The Afghanistan men’s cricket team schedule for 2026-27 currently contains eight verified internationals: five ODIs and three T20Is. The five-match Ireland series is complete, while three confirmed matches against India run from 13 to 17 September 2026.
This page uses the latest match releases rather than copying an older Future Tours Programme graphic. Later Afghanistan series remain visible as status notes, but they do not become rows until a responsible board publishes exact dates and venues.
The Pakistan vs Afghanistan permanent hub keeps the teams’ 2023 and 2025 series and tournament meetings in one place. No new Pakistan row appears here because neither board nor a tournament organizer has confirmed another exact meeting.
Afghanistan’s verified 2026-27 series
| Series | Dates | Matches | Formats | Status / host |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Afghanistan tour of Ireland | 5-15 August 2026 | 5 | ODI | Completed; Ireland |
| India tour hosted by Afghanistan | 13-17 September 2026 | 3 | T20I | Confirmed; played in Delhi |
The generated tables below use each match’s status and end time. A result from the official board moves a match to Recent results; an expected series window without a final itinerary never appears as a confirmed row.
Afghanistan won the Ireland ODIs 4-0
Rain left the first ODI at Bready without a result. Afghanistan then won the next four matches by 92 runs, three wickets, 42 runs and six wickets, completing a 4-0 series victory. The Ireland cricket schedule places the same five records inside the host’s complete 2026 home program.
All five matches began at 10:45 a.m. local time according to Cricket Ireland. That converts to 2:45 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time during British Summer Time. The result text comes from Afghanistan Cricket Board’s official match feed and final-series report.
Three T20Is against India are next
Afghanistan hosts India at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi on 13, 15 and 17 September. The joint ACB-BCCI announcement confirms the dates, venue and host board, but it does not publish start times. The upcoming rows therefore say the time is unannounced.
The India cricket schedule uses the same three controlled records. Squad names and broadcasters will be added only after current official announcements; they are not inferred from the June tour or a secondary fixture feed.
Why Afghanistan is hosting India in Delhi
Afghanistan is the designated home team, while Delhi is the physical venue. ACB has staged home series in India and the UAE because it has access to approved facilities there. Host status and country of play are separate schedule fields.
That means the official records correctly say Afghanistan v India even though every match is played in India. It is not an India home series mislabeled by this page.
Later series do not have match-ready itineraries
ACB’s sponsorship-planning package lists Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, West Indies, Ireland, Sri Lanka and New Zealand blocks across late 2026 and 2027. It is useful evidence of the board’s intended workload, but not a final fixture list.
The distinction matters because the same document expected one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is in Ireland in August 2026; the completed tour became five ODIs. Its September South Africa block also overlaps the now-confirmed India T20Is, and current Bangladesh discussion describes a different format mix from the older graphic.
- Bangladesh: a multi-format series is being discussed for October, but ACB has not released exact dates, grounds or the final white-ball format.
- Zimbabwe: the older plan shows two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in December-January, with no current match dates or venue release.
- West Indies: one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is appear in the February 2027 plan, but no final CWI-ACB itinerary was found.
- Ireland: Cricket Ireland confirms a 2027 multi-format series hosted by Afghanistan in the UAE. Exact dates and grounds are still unannounced.
These blocks will be promoted into the table one series at a time after the relevant boards publish usable match details.
Afghanistan’s 2027 World Cup route is still open
Afghanistan is not yet a confirmed 2027 men’s ODI World Cup participant. South Africa and Zimbabwe hold the automatic host places, while the next eight direct places depend on the ICC ODI ranking qualification route. Afghanistan’s August 2026 series against Ireland was part of its preparation and ranking work, not a formal qualification announcement.
The 2027 Cricket World Cup hub tracks the event’s confirmed structure and schedule status. No Afghanistan World Cup row appears here until qualification and the individual fixture list are official.
Times are shown in PKT
The five Ireland starts are converted from 10:45 a.m. British Summer Time to 2:45 p.m. PKT. The India T20Is retain an unannounced start rather than using the 7 p.m. time displayed by secondary schedule sites.
The cricket abbreviations guide explains TBC and TBD. Readers comparing formats can also use SportsMuntra’s guides to Test cricket, 50-over ODI cricket and innings across formats.
What this page excludes
This schedule covers the senior Afghanistan men’s international team. It excludes AfghanAbdalyan, A-team and under-19 matches, domestic competitions, warm-ups and franchise leagues. Those records can appear beside senior fixtures in broad ACB and third-party feeds, but they serve a different audience.
It also excludes month-only FTP blocks, a conditional 2027 tournament opponent, and any fixture whose current official source conflicts with an older planning document.
How the permanent URL stays current
The URL remains /afghanistan-cricket-team-schedule/. When the visible calendar moves to a new useful period, the title, H1, metadata and body replace 2026-27; old years are not appended.
Completed matches move to Recent results only after an official source confirms the outcome. Routine checks update dataVerifiedAt; dateModified changes after a material fixture or editorial update, not merely because a page was rechecked.
