England lead Pakistan 1-0 in the live three-Test series after winning the opener at Headingley by an innings and 103 runs. The second Test began at Lord’s on 27 August and remains in progress at this page’s 28 August check. The third starts at Edgbaston on 9 September.

After the Tests, the next confirmed meetings are two ODIs in Pakistan’s three-team event with Sri Lanka. Pakistan and England play in Rawalpindi on 20 October and Lahore on 25 October. Start times have not been announced. England then hosts Pakistan for five ODIs from 15 to 26 May 2027.

The Pakistan cricket team schedule and England cricket team schedule contain each side’s complete calendar. This page keeps only the matches between the two senior men’s teams and does not mix England Lions, Pakistan Shaheens, women’s or youth cricket into the record.

The Tests form part of the World Test Championship 2025-27. The October Pakistan ODI Tri-Series hub holds all six league fixtures involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka, plus the final date without inventing its teams. The 2027 international calendar places the May ODI series in England’s wider home season.

Pakistan vs England head-to-head record

England leads all three senior men’s international formats. The table uses completed matches only and has separate cutoffs because the Lord’s Test is still live.

FormatMatchesEngland winsPakistan winsDraw, tie or no-result
Tests93312339 draws
ODIs9257323 no-results
T20Is3221 outright wins91 tie won by England in a Super Over; 1 no-result

Record cutoffs: Tests through the completed Headingley match on 23 August 2026; ODIs through 11 November 2023; T20Is through 24 February 2026. Some databases show England with 22 T20I wins because they place the 2015 tied match in England’s win column after the Super Over. This table keeps the tied regulation result visible.

Test record and the live 2026 series

The Test rivalry began in England in 1954. Through the Headingley opener in 2026, England has 31 wins, Pakistan 23 and 39 matches have been drawn. The large draw total comes mainly from earlier decades, so it should not be used to predict the result of the current series.

England’s first-Test win moved the completed record from 92 to 93 matches. Pakistan made 171 and 135; England’s 409 created an innings-and-103-run margin. That result belongs in the record. Partial Lord’s scores do not. The live match will update the totals only after its official result is known.

For readers new to the format, the guide to what a Test match is explains five-day play, two innings, draws and the WTC points system.

ODI record and seven confirmed meetings

England leads the ODI record 57 wins to 32 across 92 matches, with three no-results. The latest completed ODI was at the 2023 World Cup in Kolkata, where England won by 93 runs.

The next seven confirmed meetings are split across two competitions:

  • 20 October 2026 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, tri-series league match
  • 25 October 2026 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, tri-series league match
  • 15, 19, 21, 23 and 26 May 2027 in England, five-match bilateral series

The October final is not counted as a Pakistan-England fixture because both teams must first finish in the top two. The five May ODIs are confirmed, but they are not World Cup matches. The Cricket World Cup winners history keeps completed tournament records separate from bilateral preparation.

T20I record and the latest World Cup meeting

Pakistan and England have played 32 T20Is. England has 21 outright wins, Pakistan nine, one match produced no result and the November 2015 match at Sharjah finished level before England won the Super Over.

Their latest T20I was a Super Eight match at the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in Pallekele. Pakistan made 164 for 9; Harry Brook’s 100 helped England reach 166 for 8 and win by two wickets. The official PCB scorecard names Brook Player of the Match.

England also beat Pakistan by five wickets in the 2022 final in Melbourne. The T20 World Cup winners list covers the full title history without merging it into bilateral T20I totals.

Matches and series that changed the rivalry

  • The Oval, 1954: Pakistan won the fourth Test by 24 runs to draw its first series in England. Fazal Mahmood took 12 for 99 in the match.
  • United Arab Emirates, 2012: Pakistan beat the then number-one Test team 3-0. The third Test was won after Pakistan had been dismissed for 99 in its first innings.
  • Melbourne, 2022: England chased 138 to win the T20 World Cup final by five wickets.
  • Pakistan, 2024: England won the first Test by an innings after making 823 for 7, but Pakistan changed its side and conditions, won the next two and took the series 2-1.
  • Pallekele and Headingley, 2026: England won the latest T20I by two wickets and the first Test by an innings. The live Lord’s match determines whether Pakistan can level the current series.

These examples are milestones, not a ranking of the teams’ best matches. Historical scores come from PCB, ICC or recognized statistical records rather than fan memory.

How this permanent page stays current

The URL remains /pakistan-vs-england/. Controlled match records move from Upcoming to Recent results after an official status change. A multi-day Test remains live until its endAt boundary and official result agree; a partial score is never converted into a result.

The head-to-head tables use a visible cutoff. When the Lord’s Test ends, the Test total and result columns will be updated together. New Pakistan-England articles attach to this rivalry entity, while both team schedules keep their broader calendars. Exact aliases such as ENG vs PAK resolve to this same page rather than creating duplicate URLs.
